About United christian parish preschool

Our Philosophy

We believe that each child deserves an enriching environment to learn and grow. Learning through play is an integral part of our program.
Curriculum is designed to help children develop socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and spiritually. It is child centered, embraces differences and encourages active learning and exploration. As a result, children learn important social skills in a nurturing environment.

Quality Education

United Christian Parish Preschool is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and participates in Virginia Quality, the state rating and improvement system. We embrace Creative Curriculum as our scaffolding to teach and use Conscious Discipline to help children develop socially and emotionally. Chapel experiences reinforce God’s love and celebrate the wonders of the world. Additionally, scholarships are available for families who cannot afford the full cost of tuition.

Outdoor Classroom Experience

At United Christian Parish Preschool, our learning doesn’t just take place inside the classroom. Much of our children’s learning also takes place outside. Our outdoor learning space is safe and organized for independence and learning through play.
Outdoor learning is used in so many ways; teachers facilitate multi-sensory learning opportunities, students engage in unstructured gross motor experiences, and creative play is fostered in many ways. Children at UCP Preschool spend about half of the day learning and playing outdoors.
