At United Christian Parish Preschool, we provide a nurturing, Christian environment where children can thrive through play-based learning and developmentally appropriate practices rooted in love, respect, and kindness. The preschool is a ministry of the United Christian Parish Church and its mission is to provide quality affordable early childhood education to children in our community. As a proud NAEYC-accredited preschool, we are committed to the highest standards of early childhood education, honoring the uniqueness of each child.
Guided by the principles of Conscious Discipline, we empower children with the social and emotional skills needed to build strong relationships, foster self-regulation, and create a peaceful, inclusive community. In embracing diversity, we celebrate each child’s background, culture, and experiences, ensuring that all feel valued and included. I’ve had 2 children attend here and they love it! They love their teachers, it’s very safe, and has an excellent program and happy staff. It offers the utmost convenience for parents with kids at Lake Anne Elementary next door (drop off is back to back), and offers extra time compared to other half day preschools. My child will be attending here this year as well and we look forward to it.

I have sent two of my kids to UCP Preschool so far and it is such a special place for our family. When we first started our preschool search a few years ago it wasn’t on our radar, I had no idea it existed despite living close by. After multiple recommendations by a few friends we scheduled a tour and fell in love. We had actually enrolled our oldest child somewhere else for preschool and UCPP felt like a much better fit. We enrolled at UCP Preschool instead and have been thrilled with the experience.
Our first child had the best experience in her one year and we regret not sending her to UCP sooner before she had to move on to kindergarten. She had so much fun learning, exploring, and socializing. Her teachers were the best of the best. Even though our first only had that one year in preschool it was incredibly impactful for her and gave her a solid foundation to move on and excel in kindergarten.
Our second child is our more reserved and sensitive child and I had a lot of fears about sending him to school at age 3–we learned our lesson and made sure he got more years of fun! The staff at UCPP was incredibly accommodating, meeting with me before school started and giving me resources to help me with our struggles at home before school even started. When he did start school the staff was incredible with him; they were patient, kind, and welcoming. My three year old grew and matured so much. He developed wonderful relationships with all his teachers and absolutely loves school. The adults in the building have treated him with so much love and respect this year and met him right where he was. I couldn’t be happier with his experience and am so thankful.
As a former early childhood educator the most important things for me in a preschool include a safe place to play and learn with exceptional social-emotional support. UCPP exceeds all my expectations. They provided exactly the perfect place for each of my very different which makes it all the more impressive. Plus the support they offer to parents is invaluable. The school uses Conscious Discpline and throughout the year offers workshops to help parents learn tools to help at home. The staff is warm and welcoming and I have always felt like a respected member of the team supporting my children.

We are in our 6th year at UCP Preschool, and I cannot say enough about how incredible this school has been for my 2 boys AND our family. The teachers are so incredibly warm and invested, communication with the staff has always been so supportive and encouraging. I have been helped as a parent by their use of the tools and strategies of Conscious Discipline in the classroom. I love the play based learning curriculum, and the generous amount of time they get to be outside. I can see what an amazing impact it has had on my kids - their eagerness to go to school, and be a part of this warm, welcoming community says it all!
We moved away from UCPP in 2020, but STILL drive all the way from Centreville to Reston just to be at UCP Preschool!

My great grandaughter goes to this preschool.i visited lately on my trip to see her snd it's amazing what activities they do and all the great things kids learn. I never knew going to school even as a two year old where learning is fun. Even moms and Das Re part of this great program. Drop by anytime. The one thing the director loves is meeting new parents and their children!!

Both of my children attended UCPP beginning as two year olds. From the first moments they felt loved and safe in this environment. The teachers met my children right where they were, adapting to meet their social emotional development and engage them in topics where they saw passion in my children. It was a great way to start a love of school and learning.

United Christian Parish Preschool was recommended to us by friends whose kids went here for 4 years, but we still had reservations as our daughter is very attached and sensitive. Additionally, English is not her first language and even though she understood a lot, her vocabulary was very limited on the first day. The transition was easier than I hoped and after the first week, she could not wait to go to school, which is still the case this school year too. The staff are truly exceeding any expectations, have experience with bilingual kids and are invested in kids' emotional development. In this preschool safety is priority while the home-feel is omnipresent. We highly recommend United Christian Parish Preschool.

Our family just completed the second year as part of the UCPP family and our experience has been wonderful in every regard. The teachers are top-notch and truly care about the kids. The facility itself feels warm, clean, and safe. My 2 preschoolers thrive in the play based environment and I know special care is taken with not only their early education but their emotional development. It is a truly magnificent preschool.

We recently completed our 6th year at UCPP and I could not recommend it more. The school family is so welcoming and loving. I have learned skills from Conscious Discipline that help me at home as a mom. All 3 of my children have thrived at UCPP. It has truly been a wonderful space for our family!

My daughter went here for 2 years and blossomed so much in this gem of a preschool. Everyone (admin and teacher alike) is so kind and we feel welcomed every day. My daughter loves going to school and constantly talks about what she learned each day and the songs they sang. I first learned about this preschool from a FB suggestion when I was looking for a safe place for my daughter's multiple severe food allergies. I am so glad I toured this place because the teachers can't be more careful, accommodating, and inclusive. My daughter never felt left out during any of the birthday and holiday parties. If you are looking for a safe, half-day, fun preschool for your preschoolers, this is the place to go! We are so sad our girl is graduating and moving on to Kindergarten but are confident she is ready. We will be ever grateful for the care and nurturing she received at UCPP.

Both my daughters attended UCP Preschool many years ago and we adored everything about it! We loved that it is a play based preschool that offered an emotional learning program as well. The curriculum served as a terrific foundation for Kindergarten and beyond. It truly felt like a family where everyone cared for the social and emotional wellbeing of not only its students, but staff as well. We love UCP Preschool!

UCPP is a fantastic school! All the teachers and staff care for the students, their wellbeing and their safety; they are incredible! I have learned so much through their use of the Conscious Discipline method, which I’ve applied to my own parenting and understanding of my child. And the classrooms, bathrooms, and facilities are bright, clean, like new, and the outdoor play areas are spacious, partly shaded, with lots of play equipment/items. It is truly a wonderful preschool experience!

United Parish Christian Pre school is an amazing pre school. The teachers truly care about the children and create so many amazing activities on a daily basis. The conscious discipline program teaches the children from a young age how to manage their feelings. What a great gift that is! Ginger, the director is kind, professional and approachable. I can absolutely recommend this school.

This is the third preschool we have been to in Fairfax county and it is light years beyond the others. The teachers truly care about each child and are completely invested. You can tell they are there because they want to be and that it is more than a job for them. They enrich the kids with so many creative activities and my children come home glowing everyday with excitement from school. Ginger, the director is amazing and their communication is unparalleled. I wish they had more grades because I would keep my kids here as long as I could!
